Unfortunately I've got way too much $$$ tied up in this thing now to sell it. I'd never get even close to what I've spent or will be spending. After all is said and done I'll essentially have a new engine in the truck, and with proper maintenance will last me a long time, and I'm darn near an expert at doing a timing belt now. Sucks I had to buy a lemon, but you've seen the truck. Other than the crappy engine, the rest of it is in great shape. If I wanted a Jeep, I would have bought one in the first place. But then I'd have to spend 5K on axles just to run 35's. And that's not even considering the cost of a long arm kit to get up that high. No thanks.

Yuck. A jeep. Guy at work always tell me to TI (trade in) my monty. I've owned alot of vehicles (and destroyed a few of them) but my Monty keeps asking for more and more. Couple of jeeps I've seen were FORD's (Fix or repair daily). Except for getting the heads done, I haven't broken anything yet. And I try, just maybe not as hard as the rest here. Sucks about the lemon though. Take the lemon, make lemonade, add hard booze and rock out when your done with it.

While you guys were out playing this weekend, I finally got some work done.

Body lift = DONE!

Got my heads and gasket kit, and other parts I needed. Just waiting on the short block.

JohnnyB - Any updates on your intake/bushing project? I think that's the last thing I need to take care of before putting this whole thing back together.

I have asked my brother to tell the machine shop guy to make some more bushings, but I haven't heard back yet. Once I get some, I have a plenum to work with, so I'll keep you posted.

JB - Thanks man! I appreciate it.

TOASTY - Almost on the dot. I did it with my floor jack and some 2x4 scraps. I lifted the truck from the sides using a brace in the middle of the body, and it worked out pretty well. Don't know why the hell I waited so long. Wasn't near as bad as I was thinking it was going to be. I was meaning to ask you: What electric fan are you using on your rig? From a Volvo if I remember right, but can't remember the model. Do you think it will keep up as well as the clutch fan in the dead of summer? I'm thinking of going the same route instead of relocating the radiator to line up with the clutch fan.

S-80
or XC-90 maybe

These fans are pretty kick ass, the reason i'm switching is because the clutch fan can't keep up warmish weather

If you can't find one for under $50 you might as well buy a kick ass aftermarket unit.

Body Damage is Cool
A Ford Taurus fan might work, it might be to thick though. I scored one from apache auto for like 40 bucks 3 or 4 years ago.

Can one of you DOHC guys make a measurement from the radiator to the front of the pulley on the crankshaft and post it up? I'm looking at a few different options and need to know how much clearance is there. Thanks!

You need the measurement from the radiator to the base of the fan, once the fan is removed the pully there needs to be bolted down and that is your clearance. Mine's not here right now otherwise i?d measure it for you. The SOHC is probably exactly the same though.
