What's the absolute biggest tire I can put on my 1989 SWB Montero? I'm rocking the stock rims and I also don't want to have to fabricate fender wells or any of that business... I was thinking 31's? Any advice would be great!


It's limited by the width of the tire, not the tire diameter. 10" wide is probably as wide as most shops will go for the 6" wide rim and 11" is probably as wide as they'd go for the 7" wide rim. In metric terms that's either a 304 or 335 for the first number (ex. 235 as in 235/75R15).
