That's great as long as you're wheeling where there are trees. Az Crew would have to carry "rock straps".

Roll Me Over
***
Has anyone found out if the optional PTO winch for the overseas mitsubishis work with the automatic transmissions? I see the access plate on the side of the transfer case, so it makes me want to know if its worth finding one overseas to bolt to my Raider.

The gear isn't there to run the pto in the t-case, the t-case neutral position runs the pto. I took apart my auto t-case apart with Onsail and we noticed the lack of a PTO gear, i always thought that the gear would be there and once you bolted on the PTO the position on the shift selection would be there between L and H but it's not.

Despite going electric, I just dont see the entire "if my engine is off or the truck is rolled over" argument. Self recovery from a roll over is really not practical for most, unless you have a buggy you can drag all over the place until it turns over. Then again, in over 20 years of wheeling I have been able to stay away from rolling, along with the groups I wheel with. And as the test shows, so many electrics die in the water anyways.....I have yet to see a fast Hydro set up. But even if you did, is it worth the effort and the complexity?

Sparkem had an 8294 on his 94 SR in a Don's bumper?? Why would they be unmountable? [/quote]

To me those bumpers stick too far out for Rock Crawling...With enough lift it may not be as big a problem, but I am a fan of low profile.

Just realized i need to be sending you pics of my LowPro bumpers for you to look through, i know you saw the tube one but not the other. sorry i dropped the ball on that one.

Back to winches, Lloyd have you looked into the Worm drive units? I think for your use and application they would be perfect.

I never look at worm drive hydraulics. The T-max has machined, 3 stage plenatary gears. They are also rebuildable and have bearings instead of bushings. A few of the reasons I went T-max.

Probably prefer the bumper with hoops. I like the idea of bobbing the front. I guess a winch will fit ok in that opening?
