Looks like back in 1997, a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) was issued on a whole series of Ford fans, including the 94-97 Taurus/Sable, Continental, and Mark 8. It says that replacing the motor could result in "Noise/Vibration/Harshness (NVH) issues".

Seems the units are balanced at the factory, and replacing just the motor is a no-no.

And you don't see sticking a Ford Taurus fan in a Mitsubishi as "fraudulent, illegal, or deceitful"?

For shame! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />

Still, if they paid me for my brains, they'd have to pay me less.

You asked what collude was......

That's the definition from the dictionary for collude on the lower part cut and pasted from Meriam Webster.

We'd hear it more commonly as the word collusion

A collusion confusion? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Hm, ok. No, the use of other auto-makers parts for the benefit of a Montero is called resourceful. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I might not make since <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> but here's my plan...
I have a bunch of fans , I impulsively pick them up for the day I get around to doing something with them. The only one installed is the 15 year old Chevy Metro Aisin fan thats in the sliding side window. My husky thinks his head is out the window at 40mph while I'm messing in the salvage yards.
Back to the plan:
I don't have an AC radiator so its like having a 3 core...
2 different sized fans on the front of the radiator, one for oil cooler / rad/ and the big one for rad. wired to 2 different relays/ 2 diffent complete system for non failing redundancy. Wired with manual swich for off and reverse.
This will be used to suck air out of engine compartment when parked with dog is waiting in truck.
Eventually after my fan cracks or clutch goes out there will be fans on inside radiartor , too.
Krzy, right?
