auto is out,clutch linkage is in.still have to pull the flexplate off then start bolting stuff on.

that auto was pretty heavy.landed on my chest,boy does that still hurt.it is nice to have a complete donor vehicle sitting next to the monty.

nothing is wrong with the auto except it leaks some.the flex plates starter teeth were shot so it was tearing up starters.found the parts truck for $400 bucks and it has a stick so we decided to put it in.it is my little brother in laws monty and we prefer stick shifts anyways.

i built shifter extentions to make up for the body lift last night.all thats left is to bolt up the front drive shaft,bleed the clutch,fill the tranny and t case and put the carb back on.i am going to post the 4.875 gears for sale if anyone is interested.

those trannys are not that bad.i beat the heck out of the ones in my 2 d-50's on 35's and they keep going.just becouse i am on my 3rd tranny in the red truck in the last 10 years.

I am really happy with the performance of the auto in mine. 35's with a 2.6, and I put some mileson it. Thhe 88 SWB I just got will be my first dealing with the 5 spd. Got a tuff pan coming for it, will probably end up on 31's, kind of afraid to go any more. Even the Dillon is doing great with his and 38's.
