Dave, spend about $300 and get a little netbook. I use a Toshiba NB205 on a daily basis since March of last year.

it's gonna be a long while before spending on anything absolutely necessary. I even had to hit the food bank the last couple months. FWIW, you guys pay taxes for access to your local library. Call and find out what their sign-in policy is. Here, you reserve an hour, at the top of the hour.
At my 9600 baud all day long at home, I'm hitting that or an Internet cafe. Summer not so much (schools out, so the kiddos are there).
Am still trying to justify a hughesnet subscription.

Library in this part of CA is lowest priority on budget, polotitians correctly know the mass pop here is illiterate <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />. We get 4 days/week/ 30 min./ day at list you sign in and wait which usually gets you one in 45- 60 min. It takes this here illiterate <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> about 30 min. to type a sentence, with no time for spell check...

It takes this here illiterate about 30 min. to type a sentence, with no time for spell check...
