Can you use the MUT-II tool to make the new values the ECU is getting acceptable?

Danny's problem is that the parts aren't there as I understand his post.

The TCM/PCM checks for the presence of the shift solenoids in exactly the same manner as the ECM/PCM checks the injectors at key on. It runs a resistance check - if it finds too much resistance or an open circuit, it triggers a code and CEL.

The speed sensors are different - like the crank and cam sensors for the engine. If I remember correctly the TCM/PCM checks that the front and rear are there, that their functioning (TCM/PCM is receiving a signal), and that they're in the correct range of each other depending on what gear the transmission is in. I think I remember that correctly.

So, no the MUT can't be used to 'fix' this problem.

Danny is on the right track. This has to be 'edited' out of the ROM. And, I'm not even sure that's possible since some of this feeds data to other functions of the PCM. It depends on how much and what exactly he's 'missing'.

Danny, post back what all is now missing with the tranny swap, the P codes and anything else you think helpful, if you can.

Here's the link to all my notes. The input/output shaft speed sensor diagram isn't workable but the specs are correct. 1999 PCM to 1997 Harness Docs
