Need a Spot
I'd like my power outlets to work even when the truck is off. I did find the relay under the dash but I'm not sure which of the 4 connections I need to jumper. Can anyone help me out?

Body Damage is Cool
Get a test light and find the all time hot. The only problem with that is not knowing it's amp carrying ability. Better off running a wire (bigger the better) from the battery to the console. Put an inline fuse on the battery for it and you will be safe.

All fine and good until you forget you left the power block plugged in overnight and your starter clicks. I have outlets wired to a switch, and leave the factory outlets wired to the ignition. That way I don't overload the factory wiring with something bigger than its designed to run.

I have run them like that for the extra outlets for a long time on diffeent vehicles. The only thing that it powers overnites is the little lite telling you it's getting power. I have left the truck sit for a month and not had a start-up issue. Now if you left a radio on or something like that....yes.

There is a device called "Battery Saver" that bolts on the positive terminal & then the battery cable connects to it. If the voltage drops to a preset point the accessories are turned off & there is still enough "juice" to crank your rig...Got 1 on a converted bus/ party wagon for lighting.Works great.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
If you plan on running all of your aux. items in this manner, I'd suggest installing a designated deep cell battery for all of your aux. needs.

My brother has this set up and runs everything, except his starter off of it...radio, air system, work/camp lights, cb, charging units for cell phone and computer, etc. He wired it up with one of the Painless systems, so the charging is done correctly when needed. It's performed flawlessly.

Good Luck

We (Grasscat did the work actually) ran power lines directly from the battery into the cabin and wired up a separate outlet in the center console between the seats. I then connected a 4 port 12v dc box to that. I run my street gps, a dual usb charger (for my phone and if needed, my ipad) a 110 AC inverter, and when I have it inside, my freezer fridge. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Is your freezer fridge a 12v or 110v? How much is the start-up draw?

Thanks

Both. It's an ARB 50qt unit. Not sure what the start-up draw is and I can't check til I get home later today but you can probably find it on ARB's website.
