Getting the Wheeling Fever
Thanks, I am still a little curious if the shackle idea is worth going after? The local shop opens tomorrow and I was kicking around getting a quote. I want to go after the most cost effective + off road effective option possible. I will start posting picks as soon as I start to help anyone else who might be looking into doing this. I have found that the raider is a pain to mod. I hope to help anyone else who is looking to do what I am doing. On another note, I went to the lake today and hit a large puddle/pond pretty hard. After, I heard what sounded like a chain raddling and it left me feeling like I was waiting for something bad to happen . It stopped after a while, any ideas on what this might have been? I have no other wheelers in the area to give me advise, and my dad is an old timer who only knows classics and thinks MM's are the devil . Thanks.

You get more suspension flex with the shackles compared to stock. I'm not sure if the add-a-leafs give more flex, but I don't think they would.

There is no free lunch. Dont go flipping an axle to get the spring pads on the top side. You'll have a 5speed reverse and single speed forward because the ring gear gets flipped to the other side too when you do this.
I only mention it for safety sakes you could go to back up and run over everything in front of you !

Hey, Jeep-To-Raider, is your Raider a five-speed or an auto? (Make a signature!) If it's an auto, I'd strongly suggest the shackles for the rear instead of the add-a-leafs.

The auto has a shorter rear driveshaft than the five-speed, and the add-a-leafs affect the pinion angle enough on the auto trucks to make your u-joints in the rear complain at transition throttle. At least it did for me.

I forgot that part!

The shackles did the same thing to my 5spd truck. It gives me vibes at about 40-45 mph.

It's a 5 speed manual with a 2.6 and I am running 31x10's. I will make a sign' soon. I am curious tho, will 9" shackles work for what I am looking to do? Does anyone have a pic of there actual lift setup? This seems like it would help alot.... My girl was talking about how cool the pics that have been uploaded are of others lifted raiders, but they offer little tech help Haha, once again any help would be awsome. On another note, someone should make some after market stuff for this vehicle, they might be able to make some good dough
