Yep - It won't make a bit of difference which hose the valve is installed on - You won't get any hot coolant flowing into the passenger compartment either way.

I used an ordinary ball valve and a couple of hose barbs from Home Depot on my 2.6 - but then again, there's quite a bit of room to work with on that engine.
