I would probably say no. Bigger engine should probably require better cooling. I would just take the old one to get repaired.

Also, most places will not cover work after its been transferred between owners. I am not really shocked he turned you away when he found that a previous owner took it there and you were asking about warrantying work you didn't pay for.
wow thanks.. And thanks for your opinion there skippy did not realize you where there when i was talking to him.. My dad had it fixed at his friends shop they sent it out for repairs never said anything about my dad to him or that i was not the owner when it was fixed.. he just said he did not remember it and he does not warranty anything more than tops a year..
