My dad has a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500. 4.8 V8 with a 5 speed manual. Great truck, for a small V8 it has a good torque in stock form.

It now is no longer stock though. We've (he bought, I installed) CAI, cat-back exhaust, Powertrax diff, chip, pulleys, headers, and some appearance goodies!! It still will cruise nicely on the highway and it actually averages 18+ MPG and can chirp 3rd! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />


On the pre '96 Fords, I totally agree! I had a 1985 with a 300 and a 4 speed. my favorite truck!
