Yea that is a little too cold. I am much more of a winter person than a summer person though. I never liked the heat as a kid let alone now.

Excelent!!! Welcome to the world of Sportage 4x4ing.
You'll never have to worry again if it's locked in or not.
Winter will be much easier from now on.
Good luck. Only takes about 30 minutes to get them on.

Body Damage is Cool
You'll want to take them off at least once a year and grease them just to keep things moving. I've already had 2 freeze up on me over the winter. I went out to do a wheeling trip in the spring after not putting it in 4 wheel drive for a couple of months and the hub was frozen in the open position. I took them to Six States who is the local Warn dealer and they warranted them no charge.

That or cycle them a couple of times every other weekend. Hum... maybe I just need to go wheeling more often. That will require me to lock in my hubs more often.

What's the typical warranty on Warn Hubs? I've got one that makes a ticking noise and it sounds like it slips every once in a while so I'm not sure it's actually staying locked in.

They have a limited lifetime warranty on mechanical components.

Before you try to warranty it, open it up and clean it really well. Then grease it up. They are very simple and unless they are frozen solid, or you broke the fuse (internal ring), it's easier to repair them yourself than try to warranty it. Most places don't stock the hubs for the first gen Sportage and you'll have to wait for them to get it in before you can take yours in to get them to warranty it.

Weather you have the manual hubs or auto hubs you should remove, clean and grease the hubs and wheel bearnings once a year. Almost all wheel bearing failures are do to lack of maintence.
