That's a BIG 10-4, HazToys. I'll let him tell everybody about it. It is heavily modified. He bought it to replace the Nissan that fell off a cliff.

I think it's funny how some people still refer to Miatas as a car geared toward women. It's the single most popular car in amateur racing events in the U.S. currently.

And once you hear a little more about this one, you won't be laughing.

Body Damage is Cool
The wheels are Panasports, similar to Minilites.

The engine has an intercooled turbo system on it and was dyno'd at 223hp (the car only weighs 2200 lbs - that's a power to weight ratio in Corvette territory), although it's not pulling full boost right now - sounds like it may have a boost leak or a bad blow-off valve. It's still much faster than a stock Mitata, incredibly fun to drive, and it's handling limits are far higher than I'm willing to test on any public roads. It needs some TLC but it's going to be a really fun vehicle.

Here are a couple pics I took going over Loveland Pass earlier today.

DIY Autotune makes a direct plug in megasquirt computer for those miatas, its so easy even all the women who drive those things could install it.

Little far from home though eh Ryan??

I travel several days a week for work and although I'm typically in the Southwest and West coast states, I've been all over. I'm actually in Denver right now picking up my new vehicle and driving it home to Phoenix.

I'm looking forward to driving I-70 across the Rocky mountains this afternoon, but I don't think I brought enough sunscreen for the sunny 80 degree day that Denver has provided for my driving enjoyment.

I have one of those. Same color too. Mines a little more beat up but it is turbo'd.

I've always loved the classic roadster. I only got my 1438cc fiat spider up to about 150hp, and it was a whee to drive, even if it didn't pull worth a hoot below 4000rpms - after that it was a rocket all the way to 7500 where the valves started to float.

This is a good site for the turbo miata. Corky Bell hangs out on there.

I spend a great deal of time at that website. but I spend even more time at miataturbo.net

"was dyno'd at 223hp"

Wow, that's a lot! That's almost as much as the left bank of cylinders in my ride...

If you like wet and smelly britches, take a full bore ride in a 223hp miata.

Stop and think. The first Shelby Cobra was built with a 260ci sbf motor, probably not making that much hp. The base 289 (same block) made about 195hp as a 2bbl, 225hp as a hydraulic lifter 4bbl, and in stock ford form, made 271hp on a singel 4bbl and solid lifters. And was quite a bit heavier and less nimble than a miata. The 289 maxed out at about 306hp with 4 weber dcoe 2bbl sidedrafts (the "nest of snakes" intake, cross ram style). There a quite a few 300hp miatas out there with hair dryers on them. If your std. "girly" got hold of one of those, .....
