ever since i sold my '87 i've been trolling c-list to see what pops up. this showed up yesterday and i'd like to see what you think it's worth.

i still need to call him to see what works and what doesn't, if it has rust, etc., but from the ad it seems ok so far.

i bought my '87 in really nice shape for 1200 and it had a bunch of extra stuff (parts) with it. it had about the same mileage, but it was a 4cyl manual as opposed to this v6, and it was obviously two years older.

any ideas?

It's got a manujel transfer case, so that's worth something.

And, by the way, the seller knows how much it's worth, so don't get all crazy with your offers. There's no telling what he'll do at that point.

Really depends on a lot more than we can see from those pictures. Take a look at it and see how you feel about it.

With it being a northern vehicle I would scope it out for rust. while these vehicle are not prone to rust badly they are not rust proof. between that if it runs, clear title, leaks, etc... Good luck with it.

Or buy my 87 in the garage sale section here. Its a totally rust free Georgia car with rebuilt and new everything.

Here in the Northwest the SWB Montys and Raiders are pretty hard to find. Typically $2k to $4k depending on condition and extra eqipment. I don't see that many with the V6 either.

ditto on rust, check gas tank out some have had a problem there, not sure wear to look on it, my rig is rust free.
If no rust and you can wrench I'd recommend it even as a project.
That V5MT1 MT is a very strong unit and the front axles on that one are larger that AT models and 4 cyl models.
Even that stock rear axle with the LSD (look for orange label in door jam) is more heavy duty any make out there.

Yeah, what he says! He's afraid to get laughed off CL cause he thinks its worth a million dollars. That's wy he doesn't have a price. Offer him $1500 and see where he wants to go from there. Flashing 15 Benjamins in his face might just get him from having to deal with the people of CL. apparently that 4 door has 320k! but they are claiming everything works perfectly, it has no rust/noises and they have receipts for the engine build and annual trans maintenance.
