I haven't broken any Dana 44 stock shafts, in about 5 years.

The problem I had was u-joint caps coming loose, I give them a few tack welds now.

I was thinking that would be the weakest point, May look into upgrading the stock u-joints just to begin with and see how it does. You still running 37's?

I debate on what size tire I'm gonna go with. I honestly figure if I stuck with 35's I wouldn't have a big problem with blowing up axles. But 37's or so sounds appealing for this build. That decision is a little ways away though. Anything bigger on the 2dr would be almost to big.

Picked up some steam here, we have a roller as of a few weeks ago. I need to fully weld everything in place and plate up the joint between the two frames. I made a hybrid steering shaft to make the proper length and attach to the Saginaw steering gear, we need to notch the frame a little more for shaft clearance.

Front frame swap squared up and tacked in place, front axle positioned

Front axle squared to rear axle and spring perches tacked in place

Ride height will drop to about 2-3" of lift with the motor in place, we loaded the front of the truck with roughly 600lbs to see where we will be riding with the motor back in the truck.

The Wagoneer front frame horns will be cut off, it really doesn't stick out as far as the pictures make it look but we want to make the approach a little better and the trim will save a few inches.

Are you sure you're going to be able to get it out of the garage? Looks close.

My Dad built a canoe in our basement a long time ago. It may still be in that house's basement, if you know what I mean.

That's just a matter of letting air out of the tires to gain the necessary clearance.

It goes down to where it was when he pulled it in the garage with the motor in. Right now the motor is out.
