Thanks for all the responses. I did the timing belt sticky listed here . And it did in fact clear up my piston slap hesitation problems. changed the plugs and belts . did the throttle body clean . and did a seafoam clean . the KIA runs great now.
Problems I encountered were I overtightened and broke a crank pulley bolt and did the same and cracked the waterneck. luckly i found a used one.

The Kia is a pretty good offroader and I even had to pull out my buddies 09 explorer.
I got a WAAG brushbar off kijiji for $5!! it has no bracket kit so i'm fabricating some at work.
Future mods will be . F-150 Rims and better tires , Warn manual hubs. LED off road lights. I got a Sunfire Electric fan to swap in . (Detailed step by step wire up anybody??)
.
On a side note the Calgary KIA dealership sales are the most ignorant people I have ever met . Not interested in bringing in parts and were generally useless/un helpful.
"Gee sorry your products lasted 11 years!!"
the sportage is now my daily driver and look forward to future mods. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
