Agree with MX. Talked to Carlos on the phone last night. Given the current situation, told him to check the timing marks. He checked the belt at the drivers side top cover and said its OK, but I think he somehow jumped time. It might be impossible to line up marks now that the engine has some sort of obstruction...but it will turn counter clockwise..Heads will probably need to come off now regardless...but checking the marks will give him an idea of what happened.

I think you've got too much in that rig not to fix it, but that's just me. Replace the heads/t-belt and call it a day? What would you replace it with if you didn't fix it?

Cap, I'm not clear on what happened to your motor. Was the conclusion that the 'bump" (must have been a hell of a bump:), caused the timing belt to jump cogs and thereby cause interference with the valves and pistons which trashed your valves? or did you suck water into the motor and that did it? either way, it sux, but I'm in agreement with the rec to either get some new heads or rebuild, or did you mean by 'donor' you found another motor.

Hydrolock would have done things like popping the tops out of pistons or heads, bent/broken rods from the sudden stop, and other sudden stop problems, like a twisted crank.
Broken/bent valves is usually FOD or piston contact, unicylinder valve damage is usually FOD, multicylinder is piston contact, most often from a broken/jumped timing belt.
I confess that I'm not sold on the new belt tensioner system. The old spring loaded tensioner pulley seemed to work fine as long as the bearing in the pulley held up.
I would see if the heads can be repaired with new guides and valves and a touch of combustion chamber cleanup on the nicks if any, perhaps new valve seats, and you get the new valve stem seals and updated guides in the deal. This should not be terribly expensive, add a head set, timing belt and new idler pulleys and tensioner set, new front main seal, water pump, and you are set to go.

It did not suck water. I am also surprise that what I went thru cause this problem, I had gone thru worse mud holes before and have jump my truck feets in the air and landed pretty and never had an issue.
I found a rebuilt engine local that might cost me less than rebuilding the heads. We'll see what happens, ill keep u guys posted.

Beware rebuilt engines!!!
There has been a lot of bad luck on here with rebuilt long blocks. If your bottom end is sound, and it really should be, go with just the heads. The bottom end on these things is very stout oem, and lasts a long, long time with proper oil changes.
