The parts came last night, and today I put them in. I bled the system really well, still no clutch.

How I bled the system: Connected aquarium hosing I get from walmart to the bleeder nipple on the slave. Run it up into the master. Add fluid. pump a few pumps, fill the master, make sure there is plenty of fluid. When there is fluid coming up the tubing and back into the master, I get in the cab and just pump the clutch pedal until I can feel it get firmer from lack of air, then I check for air bubbles in the tubing. When all the air bubbles are gone, I closed the bleeder. Done.

Still, there is no clutch disengagement. I'm beginning to think that A) I am not sufficiently bleeding the system or B) I have a mechanical problem in the bell housing. I don't know what other options there might be.

I have replaced the master, the slave, and thanks to plh, the flex hose. The only thing I've not replaced is the hard line. I can go to pick'n'pull and get another one, or maybe have one made, but I can't imagine that being the issue.

HELP. I'm lost!

Did some reading and thinking today. I am almost sure there are broken clutch springs keeping it from disengaging.

I realized that some weird stuff happened when I first got the truck. It would shift really normally and then even with the clutch IN it would all of the sudden jerk the car around for no good reason. I realize that this is parts of the clutch getting caught up and then breaking. Probably springs as mentioned.

Looks like its time for a new clutch.

Maybe this will help ..Makes me wonder what the car makers are thinking at times ... Mitsu clutch slaves And most slaves how in the hell do they think you can get the air out of them the way there made ....??? Air gets trapped in the end of the slave and will not move back to the bleeder

Try this .... Get the bleeder loose .. ( Not enough to piss fluid ..) ... REMOVE the slave from the truck ... Let it hang down from the hose ...(Anyone see were I'm going with this ...?? Air goes up like air in a soda in a glass..) ....Make sure the cap is off the master...Open the bleeder and let gravity take over ...It should and will run fluided very fast out the bleeder so be ready... Never touch the peddle ...."I" ..NEVER... touch a brake or clutch peddle when bleeding brakes or clutchs....You dont have too ...

I'll bet there still is air in the slave at the cup/boot ...In my years of gearbox work clutch bleedings a pain ..

Want to hear something totally crazy? I got in the truck today to do some driving and it shifted great until it warmed up, then it was a little hard to get into first, but when its cold its perfect. If the weather is hot it even won't work, but cold it is fine.

WTF, over?

What kind of oil is in the transmission? How is the input shaft bearing wear?

I don't know what kind of oil is in it. I've had the truck for less than a month. Same about the shaft bearing. I just went out to the truck to snap a couple of pictures of the engine bay (I'm trying to figure out a missing hose situation) and for fun I started it up. It grinded just a little bit in first and reverse, and that's with having had the clutch in before the motor was started.

Currently I feel like I should find a used transmission/xfer case in good shape and swap it in along with a new clutch. The truck has 334K miles and maybe its time to replace the big parts.

Went down to 7/11 to grab a soda. Its 1/4 mile away, and I drove it. She drove like a perfect lady on the way there, and even on the way back. But when I stopped the truck and tested the clutch, there was no disengagement again.

I think I'm going to have to get under there with a measuring tape and measure the throw of the slave when its working, and when its not. It has got to be heat related, its either hydraulic or the pilot bearing.
