Do you guys know what's the best place to get a rebuild kit for the 2.6L carb? This is for an 88 Monty. Also, is there any good literature on the carb? The FSM doesn't explain the different circuits in detail. Thanks!

There are no good kits. The parts you need are not included in the kit including the bowl vent valve and other electronic gizmos ( technical term ) Many on the board have had good luck with remanufactured carbs from fcproducts.com.

Thanks for the info. I may have to go that route and get a rebuilt carb. Took the 88 to have it smogged and failed co and hc quite badly. Running very rich. The mas screw is still plugged. Any ideas? As cool as these trucks are, I'm starting to get tired of dealing with cali smog crap.

I'd move then. No Cali smog crap anywhere else.

I have a very generic rebuild kit I did not use. Yours for a few dollars for shipping, just PM if you want it. I think I had to wait 2 weeks for a custom order from the local parts store, but I decided to go with the Weber - which I know isn't an option in California.

You can also buy the secondary diaphragm here for $53.00.
