My Montero (95LS 3.0 24v) sat with the engine dissasembled for about 6 months. When I put it all back together last week, the radiator mounted drain petcock was dripping about 1 drop per second.

Since its plastic, I was reluctant to attempt to tighten it further with pliers, so I just opened and closed it repeatedly hoping to maybe re-seat itself and start sealing......that didnt make any difference,

but, I noticed that by the next morning, the drip had slowed to about one drop per hour

Anyone had this experience with the radiator drain petcock?

Do I need to replace it? (is it replaceable??) or will it eventually stop dripping??

Could there be a replaceable o-ring on the drain screw?
