Has anyone ever added a aux fan to a Gen II.5. I was changing my oil this weekend and had a idea.

I have one from a volvo turbo sedan on my 4.3 raider. It has nice .5 inch lines going in and out that matched my remote oil filter / cooler lines so I used it. It certainly radiates a lot of heat out.

I'm not sure what the weak point is on vovlo's. I think it's the cost to repair vs blue book. We have the same situation around here with Range Rovers. You can get a mint looking 10 year old mall machine for less than 5K. Even then it's a hard sell. Rich people don't drive old cars and everyone else is scared of the repair bill.

One can buy used Rovers around here for a song, too...might be universal.

Traditionally, Volvo only had two consistent problems: 1. The engine. 2. The transmission.

There are three in the fleet I manage. They are high-maintenance sleds and when they break, it's not an inexpensive proposition. I'd love to get rid of them, but their drivers love them and they know they won't get another.

I will say that Volvo has the best PR department in the world when it comes to making folks think their vehicles are safer than anyone elses. It's not true, of course, but hardcore Volvo folks will not be swayed.
