From one blue eyea to another, ain't this new fangled stuff the very hoodoo?

The basic firing order on the early 6g72's is 123456. The spark method is waste spark, with double headed coils, firing two cylinders at once, one on the compression stroke, and the other one, the "wasted" <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" /> spark fires on the exhaust stroke, where it makes no difference. If you work off the firing order above, when 1 is on the power stroke, 4 is on the exhaust stroke, 3 power pulses away, so 1 should pair with 4, 2 with 5, and 3 with 6.

I don't have a manual for a 00, but the 95 coil on plug dohc motor had the following identifications.

  • coil on 1 has plug wire to 4. coil+ is black/white. coil- is blue/red
  • coil on 2 has plug wire to 5. coil+ is black/white. coil- is blue/black
  • coil on 3 has plug wire to 6. coil+ is black/white. coil- is blue/yellow.

The power transistor(s) are where the coil- wire goes, so you can check the stripe colors there.

Mitsu is often consistent from year to year, so this might help.
