If your lumber was wet when nailed I've seen the heads pop a 1/16 when dry. I guess pop is incorrect, The lumber swelled when wet then returned to correct moisture content.
This was Florida rainstorm wet.
There is a product you can spray the raw lumber to prevent any nasties growing.
