If they want no work for pay why is it one of their biggest complaints is the lack of jobs other then Mcdonalds that would still make them gov dependent?

Read history. The feudal system in England kept people as slaves to a few landowners beholder to a royalty that did nothing to better life for the common person.

I agree and it Sounds like alot of modern US companies. Sorry have to go to work no time for more.

When looked at as a whole, the state of jobs in the US is dismal. Yet, there are a number of "jobs" that go unfilled for a variety of reasons; seasonal, temporary, part-time, or low pay to name a few.

Why accept one of those jobs when government handout pays the same, if not more, with the benefit you don't need to go to a place of employment everyday?

There is enough blame to go around to the various drivers of the economy -- government, unions, politicians, businesses, environmental movement and the general public.

No one wants to accept their share of the responsibility for the problems. It is easier to blame someone else than it is to accept responsibility to fix what you are responsible for.

And speaking of supercommittees, I finally got around to giving a quick google on who's seated:

Supercommittee Roster

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

One of the strange points of the American legislative system rests with the way the system plays out.

While Congress as a whole has a very low popularity rating, when it come to people grading their own representative, they are generally favorable. It is all the others in Congress that are messing things up.

My guess is most of them will be re-elected....

Yesterday the Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to support Move to Amend's resolution
calling on Congress to amend the Constitution to clearly establish that only living persons -- not corporations --
are endowed with constitutional rights and that money is not the same as free speech. The vote makes Los
Angeles the first major city in the U.S. to call for an end to all corporate constitutional rights!

In a press conference after the vote, Council President Eric Garcetti stated:

"I want to thank Move to Amend and this entire coalition that has come together... Every struggle to amend
the constitution began as just a group of regular Americans who wanted to end slavery, who thought women
should vote, who believed that if you're old enough to be drafted, you should be old enough to vote. These
are how American amendments move forward from the grassroots when Americans say enough is enough.

We're very proud to come together and send a message but more than that, this becomes the official
position of the City of Los Angeles, we will officially lobby for this. I also chair a group which oversees all the
Democratic mayors and council members in the country and we're going to share this with all our 3,000
members and we hope to see this start here in the west and sweep the nation until one day we do have a
constitutional amendment which will return the power to the people."
