The floods from tropical storm Lee last mouth hit my parts starch hard. It was suggested to put diesel fuel in the engine crank cases.
But what about my auto trans? Both my good Jatco 600 Starion at's, a MM 4 speed at and a couple of Jatco cores had water a couple of inches above the out put shafts. Anything i can do? Or am i beating my head against a wall?
Probably about 20+ assorted engines, short blocks, transmission and rears all with water in them. Some i haven't even drained yet. And what a mess when the oil floated out of them.

The diesel would probably be your cheapest best. Your really going to have to immerse them heavily. I'm not even gonna guess about the tranny's. Well, maybe i will. take pans off and fill with diesel. or maybe trans fluid, really what the sewals want over oily diesel. Good luck!

Sorry to hear this. Mirrors many folks down south. My experience was oil floated out of vehicles, and coated everything with filth. Be glad it wasn't saltwater. I bet you can drain em, and save em all. I KNOW some of the vehicles that went under Katrina were saved.... BUT it took total dissassembly, and washing with fresh water... New interiors... total engine tear downs.. etc.

I had a buddy that bought a gasoline powered welder from an estate sale...the owner had been deceased for 20 yrs & the welder was made in the late 40's or early 50's..The owner had filled the radiator w/ oil ; the crankcase & cylinders w/ diesel before storing it... As stated, it sat like that for more than 20 yrs. We drained everything, flushed it all & installed correct fluids...10 yrs later its still running.
It will take considerable effort; but your equipment can be salvaged.
