I read that bulliten awhile back and we got quite a conversation going. I haven't been on here much lately either.
I think the modifier is to help out with the slow synchros from 1st to 2nd. I just use Redline MTL - 1 or equivalent Amsoil in the trans. The only real important thing is that you "never" use GL5 gear oil as the sulfur in it eats your synchronizers.
