I don't know about people burning it up in a Prius, but I came across a Nissan Leaf that wouldn't get the hell out of the way in San Diego yesterday. Whole row of cars backed up on 163 South doing about 45 MPH... everyone ended up passing this lady on the right to get back up to speed.. it was an older woman driving that Nissan Leaf a snail's pace!

Well, I didn't realize a Prius was so spritely! Having said that, it's not the fact that it CAN do that, but just that if I had to put up with one, and pay the high price, I'd want the maximum benefit. My TDI has been remapped and can go like stink, but I try ( ) to avoid playing because I like the economy. A $50 of diesel lasting a month is very appealing Sometimes I think 'screw it' and give it the stick Besides, clearing out the soot is good for it.

Eddy, Ferrari V12...droop. 50's 250 SWB is probably to most beautiful car period..for me of course.

Hmmm. My Powerstroke takes $100 of diesel per fill-up. Of course the TDI can't carry a camper while pulling a trailer with a Jeep on it.

No need for a camper, and a trailer. My trail rig does interstate speeds fine, and seldom breaks.

Wish I could afford a powerstroke as well.

Now that we have fixed the suspension and steering, I have no doubt that my rig will do the speed limit. However the WSP (Washington State Patrol) would have some serious complaints about my rig, i.e., (lack of) rear lights, no fenders, no mirrors, etc.

Support a miner- buy a hybrid. There's more rare earth metals in that battery bank than you can shake a stick at. They're falsely economic in that respect. I'm designing a Tshirt for some mining friends for it.

Yep, they drive like the Forester/Outback owners up here, SuperDuty wannabes.

BTW, most of the rare earth metals are imported from China....
