On my '96 SR I have an error code of 1750. Which according to the transmission shop means the Solenoid block assembly needs to be replaced. However, also according to the shop I don't have one, I have individual solenoids.

Then they go on to say that since I have a '96 that was actually built in '95 that was the same time Mitsubishi transitioned from ODB-1 to ODB-2 so sometimes the codes don't match up properly.

They go on even further to say that they called their support people (whoever they are) who said I shouldn't even be able to get that code.

Anyone have an idea of what I need to fixe here?

Did you get a check-engine light? How did you come across the issue? Is the tranny acting funny or not functioning properly?

Short of going to the dealer, you need to find a shop that has a Snap-On scanner with the module for Mitsubishi. Then have them scan and report their findings.

How did they get that code? OBDII reader or a mitsu code reader(including the snap on tool)?

Good thing the tranny does work fine though.

I don't know what kind of a reader they had. Does it matter? would they get the wrong codes?

OK, while I was away, I was doing some searching on Google for P1750 & Montero. I came up with this...
http://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/mitsubishi-montero-montero-sport-14/p1750-20745/
Where someone indicates it's a generic code for the Tranny and you need the transmission computer code reader to determine what's actually wrong with the transmission.

Then I found this... http://www.aboutautomobile.com/DTC/P1750/Mitsubishi which shows 3 TSB's related to it. Funny how we haven't really had too many on here experience the code. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I can tell you this: the code is not part of the OBDii specific codes. Rather it is manufacturer specific...in this case tranny related for Mitsubishi. But you should have a scanner that supports Mitsu from 96 run a scan to confirm. Then go from there.
