a small tube of anerobic here is $8.00,,,,large 17. thety must have it priced wrong. My rear seal retainer just has a paper gasket on it. RTV is too thick in my opinion to use in that tight a space, esp. since you don't want to go back in and do all that work for any leak that developes. I'dcheck a different napa or try carquest.
