I got the springs all in , and installed the new link kit on the rear stabilizer bar , and everything all torqued in. I didn't put the rear bump stops in yet , was getting too cold out again , but no big hurry on that.I then took it for a drive and wow , what a difference with the upcountry springs in , handles way better. Had the speed up to about 70 miles an hour , no vibrations at all , steering wheel stays straight , no pulling. My front suspension kit is on the way , so once everything is replaced on the front end , I will take it in and get it all aligned.
Here are a couple pics , nothing special , I need to get it out where I can take pictures without being too close to only get the wheel wells. I forgot to take measurements before I took everything apart , not sure what stock is , but I now have a hair over 21" from center of rim to wheel well lip , and you can notice the lift visibly.

Well , it wasn't freezing out today , so I took advantage of that and did a couple of things on the Jeep.I installed the 52MM TB so that I can just push it aside when I get to the intake as I had to swap the cables and all the plugs onto the TB.This took me less than an hour to get all back together.Upon taking it for a test drive , even with the loss of power from the plenum , it is noticeably quicker acceleration , so I am happy with the TB upgrade , but it will be a lot better with the intake and new injectors

I also got around to installing the LED 3rd brake light , and that took me all of 15 minutes , just a matter of a few screws , 2 wires to hook up , put the screws back in and voila , done.I didn't get pics of the TB as it is the same as what was sitting on my new intake in the pictures.I also didn't get a pic of the new brake light as it would show up better at night , and I also need a second person to press the brake lol.I will get pics when I get a chance.

Had a busy weekend , got my transfer case in , my HS 1.7 roller rockers came in , those will be going in maybe tomorrow , and got the intake pretty much almost all the way back in.Things would have gone a little quicker , but I made a boo boo <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> and shattered the plastic power steering pulley when I was trying to get the main bracket off. Also for some reason when I tried to dry fit my intake , it would not fit right , in between the valve covers , so there was a huge gap on each side of the intake , at least 1/4" if not more from even touching the heads. There are a couple pics of that in the following pics and you can see the gap and how it doesn't sit in the valve covers.Anyway , I took off one cover , and it slid in , but the valve cover is fairly tight to get back on.I seem to be the only one that encountered this problem. Also there are some pics of the transfer case installed , and the painted drive shaft and rear dif , keeping the black and gold trim going. The rest of the pics of the intake are what I got put back together so far , pretty much half done , just have to finishing installing the A/C , TB , a few plugs and hoses. There are a couple pics of how dirty the front of the intake was as the gasket there was pretty much gone , the rear was similar , not as bad , and you can see 2 spots on the plenum gasket that have blown out also , so with those spots leaking oil , I am hoping that is where my oil drip came from , and that my rear main isn't leaking like I thought.

The next 2 pics are what's left of the bushing on the power steering pulley , I bought a puller/install kit and had that bushing off in 5 minutes <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Will keep you all updated once the roller rockers are in and intake is completed and the jeep is fired up.I did the VIC plug swap and the linkage is all adjusted so all gears work on the transfer case <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Sounds as if it would have been easier to pull the engine...

Replacing the exhaust manifold on the 4.0l YJ isn't much fun either...

It was the intake I replaced , the exhaust is coming soon , my Doug Thorley headers should be in route to me next week <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> As for the intake project and the roller rockers , they are done <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" /> I had 2 little issues when I fired up the Jeep , first was one of my injectors was sitting a little off canter due to the mounting brackets on the fuel rail with the hughes intake , easy fix , I just adjusted it a little , no more leak. The second issue was I got a P0505 code right away which is IAC malfunction.I unplugged the IAC , erased the codes , plugged it back in , and voila , no more code , jeep purrs like a kitten. No leaks that I can see anywhere , but I didn't have a chance to take it for a drive yet , it is just starting to get dark and I would rather do it when it is light out so it is easier to see what is going on.

Here are the pics of the day , and the last pic you can see where I relocated my IAT sensor too , using a 24" long cable that I purchased.

This picture you can see the cable that goes to the TB , I think I screwed up and put it over top of the AC lines instead of under. Can anyone confirm if it goes under or over the AC lines for me?

And here is the IAT relocated

So , this leaves me with the headers , HID kits , bra , front suspension change , and the odd little tweak here and there , just waiting for parts to come in , most likely later this week or early next week <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I think I would put it under the ac lines and then drill and tap the alternator bracket for a good hold down clamp to hold it in place.

Oh , I did relocate the lines so they are under the AC lines.:)

Well , kind of disappointed , found out I am leaking pretty good from my rear output seal now , after replacing it and the oil slinger. The faster I drive the faster it spits out onto my cat and surrounding area.I guess I didn't grease it up enough or had a slight bur or something that I missed. Not a huge deal , will change it out , don't even have to take the transfer case off , just the rear drive shaft.I will make sure I grease the hell out of the seal and no burs before I put it back together.Gotta love how there was no leak for about 40 miles , but once it started , it started big time.

No oil , water , or vacuum leaks from the engine , so am very happy with that. The jeep definitely runs a lot better without the blown plenum , and the bigger TB and upgraded injectors <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Ok , took a little time and .66 cents to do some testing and eliminate the breather hose and the o-ring on the speedo sensor. When I took the o-ring out it was missing a chunk, so i figured ok , that has to be it.Topped up the transfer case fluid , which was down about 1/4 of a bottle after 70 miles m it is spitting out pretty good.Took it for a test drive of about 13 miles , came back , looked underneath and it was coated on the bottom and hissing from dripping on the cat again. So , I guess I will change out the rear output seal again this weekend , and will grease the hell out of it when I put it in so it is not dry and won't rip.It is a pretty serious leak , so it must have ripped apart pretty good , looking at other people's they weren't much worse than what my 249 was leaking.

Pulled the drive shaft and removed the oil slinger , c-clip and seal today , although the new seal won't be here untill tomorrow. Sure enough there are 3 rips in the rubber , very visible once the slinger was removed.I had to order the new seal from the dealer , NAPA didn't have the part. Also , I took the old seal and the bill from when I bought all the seals , and the number on the bill did not match up to the seal that they cross referenced in NAPA.It seems the seal they gave me fit , but the shaft rubber was a tiny bit smaller , hence the rips.At least the seal from the dealer will be the correct one , although it is almost twice the cost:brickwall: The plus side of this was I did not have to remove the transfer case to fix it , and it is only about an hour job if that to fix it , the seals come out easy.I will do the electrical tape thing again to get the seal over the c-clip area so it doesn't rip there , now would I be better to just use ATF for lube , or should I throw a little grease or assembly lube on the shaft so it slides on nice and won't rip when the shaft turns? Also , how important are those oil slingers? It looks like it does seal a little to the rubber seal that sticks out off the top of the seal , but it doesn't look like it is a very important seal , more like a secondary just in case , obviously it doesn't do much if the seal itself goes , noted by the fact that my jeep is coated in ATF from the rear of the transfer case to my rear diff.

Ok , a couple of updates to post , no pics at the moment though.I got the transfer case back together , so far no leaks , took it for the same drive where it coated the bottom of the jeep before , twice and no drips or signs of ATF so that seems to be good but I will monitor it.I did notice a slight water drip , but I found that and it is my fault  I didn't put the clamp on straight on the hose where it goes to the thermostat so it was weeping out there and running along the intake and off the back so the drips were at the bottom of the bell housing. Not a big deal to fix:thumbsup: On the plus side , there is no more oil drip from that area , so I am thinking the crossover gaskets being blown on the intake were the cause and the oil was dripping down the back of the engine , and here I thought my rear main was gone.

My suspension kit came in , so when it warms up all of the front suspension is getting replaced , the only thing that will be reused is the bolts from the control arms , everything else came with nuts , bolts , and cotter pins. Also my HID kits are in , both for headlights and fog lights. The new fog lights are on the way , as well as a couple other little things I ordered for the inside of the jeep. These include LED lights for dome and doors , white glow gauges , a low profile radio antenna(black) and some LED bulbs for my reverse lights.I am still waiting for a tracking number for my Doug Thorleys , which are supposed to be shipped by the 12th:thumbsup:
