Hi all, it's been about a month since I started hearing belt sqeeking noise at cold start-up, then last night it finally made lot of noise & stopped, at the same time I noticed my battery light came on (alternator went finally, just shy of 400000km!)

Yard in Smithers here has a 93 V6 for $50, is it compatible w/ 22re? (Both have the round plug connector)

Otherwise my other options are:

-Napa Reman. $162
-Bosch New 60amps $173
-Bosch New 70amps $238.92

Get your original one rebuilt at an alternator rebuild shop... should cost about $90...

Really?

Good to know. I wonder if the amperage output might be higher?

On my 90 V-6 it was 60 amps which is the same as the 22r I think.

FYI, I avoided undoing the lower coolant hose to take the alternator out by snapping/breaking the lower (driverside) corner portion of the black plastic cover btwn the fan blade & radiator. It made the R&R so much easier & faster.

& yes, it's 60amps.
