I went that route on mine. The relay is a bear to get to. You have to remove the ECU & you'll find it located in w/ a couple of other relays.There is 1 mounting screw , but I believe you'll need a mirror to see it.

You can check for voltage @ the solenoid If you can turn the voltage on & off there; then the ckt & relay are good.
