All the diving I've done recently has been full face mask so I don't suspect the water. Thanks for reminding me I need to take out my immunization card and check my HepA and HepB.

We had a cruise ship dump "black water" in Monterey Bay, AKA "Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary" a few years ago. I don't think they like the fine and 5 year ban. All other ships now have a official go out to the ship and lock the valve.
