Doug,

From what I have read you need adaptors anyway, this way you wouldnt have speedo or driveshaft matching issues & could keep the 4wdh for the highway, anyway why do you need a slip yoke the Paj doesnt have one stock.?

for me I would prefer the 3.15 gears because it requires less mods, it allows me to retain the awd mode, my interior would still look stock, and 3.15 would provide me with an adequate crawl ratio for off-roading. An automatic tranny typically does not require as low of a crawl ratio as a manual tranny. I would down for a set if the price was right.

Theres at least 3-5 individuals interested, maybe more once we get the ball rolling. Once I hear back from Ian or directly from Mark, we can start a separate new post with details and make it happen

I'm sure there will be more if a group buy gets worked out. Thanks for checking into this. The gears have been out of my reach financially, but I sure would like to get a set.

Now if we can just find someone in North America to cut some 5.29 gears, we'd be set!

Guys, I have just called marks 4wd, sorry I couldnt do it earlier in the week.

I asked about the non reply to emails & was told that basically everything associated with their premises move & coming back from the Xmas break has meant a delay in attending to incoming emails, etc

I was assured that emails will be eventually answered & that new batches of out of stock gears would be available in 3 weeks or so.

I reckon it still wouldnt hurt to send a follow up email just in case.

Hope this works out for you guys as these are about the only option available for the Pajeros/Monties.

sorry i cant tell you any more.

Thanks for the feedback Ian!

I'll send him an email again. Are you able to persuade any better pricing compared to someone that's never dealt with him, like me if you have any spare time. I'll still email him tho to let him know there's interest here in the US

FYI, I'm going to Melbourne...

Will be there in April for business (my clients are in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra (ACT)).

Ian, would love to meet with you while I'm in Canberra although I may be swamped for that part of the trip as we're meeting with a major government agency and their onsite consultancy since they're looking at a large site license for our software.

I recall Frank (Misterbishi / Mister Bishi) was from the Melbourne area. Anyone still in contact with him? I'd like to touch base with him and possibly meet with him as well. I do recall he goes by Bitsamissin on Outer Limits but that ID hasn't posted since 2010!!

Anyhow, while in Melbourne I'll be about 30-40 miles from Marks 4WD/Hardman Brothers. NO I'M NOT BUYING THEM ALL AND BRINGING THEM BACK FOR YOU. If you want I am willing to speak with them about the buy if you want though. I'll respond in the group buy thread though...

In preparation for the trip I spoke with the Sandy at Mark's 4WD. He confirmed they were purchased by Hardman Bro's & says they should hopefully have a showroom ready by then for me to see. I told them it wasn't important to me. I didn't need to see the 'flash' since I already knew the gears were good.

I also mentioned that we have been trying to contact them but hadn't seen any emails returned yet. He told me that they moved after they were purchased by the Hardman Brothers (I suspect internet access was limited) which delayed them from responding but now all emails should have been replied to. If not, please resend them the email.

As for me, I hope I'll have the dinero for the gears for my trip so I can bring them back in my suitcase (SERIOUSLY). We'll see. Sandy did say that they hope to have newly cut 3.15:1 Gen II gears ready right around the time I'm there so me having the cash in hand isn't the only factor here.

Gosh Ray, that seems a little selfish of you. I would give you a and a suitcase that you could put 10 sets in. It probably wouldn't weigh more than 150 pounds. you could use it as your carry on.

Seriously though. It's good news to hear they may have them available soon. I'm ready to buy a set.

Sounds like a fun trip, how long you going for? Yeah, last I spoke with Ian, he said to resend the email again. I did that & I still haven't seen a reply back. I'm ready for a set myself, I just need to get in contact with someone that can make them or light a match under Marks

And yeah, speaking of frank, what ever happen to him after he sold the SAS Pajero? I saw Breif pics of someone doing a body swap on it at a very different approach, with a crane But I'd also like to know who purchased his Pajero and is it still up & running. If you find Frank, tell him hey from everyone here, I miss seeing his pics & info!

And as for the gears... So you are bringing a suitcase over or you aren't bringing a suit case over? haha
