I haven't got a minimum order on this yet but they are willing and do have my dimensions with pictures of what i want made. I would probably need some help getting these guys some parts but i talked to Sumner machine in Kansas about making us up an adapter plate to bolt up any 6bolt round T-case directly to the Gen 2 AW3. So you'd just need to figure out your speedo, shifter and driveshafts. The cost would probably be about $400 each so it wouldn't be any cheaper than Aussie gears in the end but you could do more with it (doublers, eliminate slipyokes, 4:1, more center clearnace).
You could potentially build your own setup on the cheap.

To give you an idea what i'm talking about here is one they make for a GM turbo 400 to GM 203

Toasty did you ever go ahead with this?

I think I saw toasty post a pic of the adapter plate. So you are basically saying with the adapter, you would be replacing out factory t-case with another that has potential of doing more?

it would allow you to bolt on a any of the 6 bolt cases and not have to change your tailhousing, i'd have to find another machine shop as sumner decided my money wasn't worth anything. The tail housing swap isn't hard to do but i know most people don't just have access to a lathe or a machine shop to machine their pulse gear. Swapping the tailhousing should cost under a 100 dollars, that's buying the jeep tailhousing ($30-70) and machining the pulse gear ($20-50). At that point bolt on your favorite T-case and have driveshafts made.

What we did to Lloyd's '96 was the jeep tailhousing, 4:1 rubicon transfer case, dakota digital speedo, Tom Woods driveshaft. I will post up the total on that later but that would be one of the more expensive routes to go but not too far off from the Aussie gears.

yeah but still not a dueller, so really all you get is a deeper low range ratio depending upon what case you use, we really need someone to come up with a way(easy) for duel cases allowing to keep the active trac!

Put a doubler in front of the '92/'93 Montero transfer case, they are a 6 bolt case but the dowel doesn't line up so you need to remove it and drill a hole on the flange. But this doesn't actually work on a gen 2 with a 12v 3.0 because the torsion bar crossmember is in the way so you'd need to swap it onto a 3.5 powered truck and use the tailhousing from a jeep or an earlier montero. See NathanC's post on installing a doubler into a Gen 2, but replace the second NP231 with the early gen 2 super select case. be prepared to cut a new hole for your shifter or modify to use a Delica shifter if possible.

Toasty, why would you want to run an early Gen 2 case in a 3.5l , aint that going backwards given that the earlier cases are much smaller & less strong that the 3.5l case??

They're not that much smaller and since you'd have a Low Low in the area of 5:1 the shock loads wouldn't be as bad as if you were running stock gears or 3.15's in the big case. Plus it's not like the older Gen 2 cases were weak they're just a step down, i've seen a 4cyl T-case hold up to rock crawling and 3.5 DOHC with lockers and 35's. there are other options for retaining AWD but they all involve similar sized T-cases.

Oh I see, so let me know if I have got this right.

You still need to use a NP as the first transfer case in the drivetrain & you put the Gen 2 case behind that.

Does that then solve the issue with the speedo??

Maybe if you use the early gen 2 parts, otherwise you'll need the signal converter from dakota digital.
