Thanks Johnny. I bought a 20A fusible link that was missing from the little fuse box attached to the positive battery cable to try and get my ABS light to go off. It did nothing.
I will likely pull the ABS bulb and the maint reqd bulb as well.

A common cause for the abs light is dirt getting into the optical sensor at the wheels or one of the sensors going bad. IIRC, if you have the right code reader (probably a mitsu only item) you can read codes for the abs error and it will help you troubleshoot the problem.

Thanks for the info, Off roader. I do not have a code reader. Is the sensor at the wheel something that can be cleaned, and where is it exactly?

Thanks for the info, Off roader. I do not have a code reader. Is the sensor at the wheel something that can be cleaned, and where is it exactly? After consulting the FSM, I just learned that you don't absolutely need the reader. The codes can also be read with an analog multimeter. Check chapter 35C in the 92-95 Montero FSM (see the FAQ post for a download link if you don't have it). Also read the rest of the FAQ post if you haven't already. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

There is an ABS sensor at each hub. It senses a toothed metal wheel on the hub that tells it how fast the wheel is spinning. IIRC, it's the only thing on the hub with wires attached. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
