Here's an update on the status of my purchase...

I received a message from the seller (middle-man) saying that MasterJeep.com won't sell the Track Finder locker as a part. They will only sell it assembled in a carrier (with bearings) because they say it is very difficult to install correctly. So $600 won't cover the cost. Adding in the labor from MasterJeep, the additional cost of shipping and a $70 fee from the seller for facilitating the deal, the final cost will be $894 USD. If I had another option, I think I'd take the refund offered by the seller. But I want a reliable locker in my Sporty. And if I account for the cost of having the locker setup here in the U.S., to include the possibility of needing additional parts (like new thrust washers), I think the end-cost would be comparable. So I'm going to say "WTF" and pay the additional cost.

Yep, I might be crazy... or just desperate. But Summer is coming and I want to play. And that requires my Sporty to be ready to do some serious 4wheelin. I've had the rig for almost 1 year and have yet to hit the trail because I've been modding it to meet my needs (and desires). However, I don't want this to be a "perma-project". I really just want a reliable and capable trail runner. The rear locker should be my endpoint for major mods. Anything after that will be minor tweaks. That said, I will continue to keep you posted on the status of the rear locker...
