My local independent muffler shop would do the job, w/new cat and muffler, for about $250 if the upper half of the downpipe could be salvaged. I bet you could find a deal like that where you live. -- Matt

I just remembered: I had a rusty down pipe on my '89 V6 4runner. I bought a used pipe from a guy on another board who parts out Toyotas. I think I paid $45 w/shipping. It was a nice piece from South Carolina. I've also saved rusty catalytics by welding new pipe stubs onto the bodies; it's usually the flanges that are buggered.
