I use my blow gun off my compressor for the front drains from the top (with the sunroof open) and hit the back two drains the same way, but from the bottom of the rear tubes, behind the rear tires. Works for me on my '95.

Thanks! I may take you up on that... I may hit the yards and see what I can find for a replacement, though. I'm afraid all the ones in yards around here will be just as bad, though, so we'll see!

John, you're going to have to show me that trick the next time we hang out. Preferably when I have a running Montero (soon I hope). I've got some major sunroof stickage going on, and need to clean, lube, and learn where these drain points are.

I think Id go to a windshield installation shop and have them take a look at it, maybe they can make you a custom gasket.Otherwise I think youd be looking at a new/used frame and glass. I know on a lot of vehicles the sunroofs are touchy and parts are expensive. Good luck

Body Damage is Cool

Several years ago I did a major fix on my sunroof. The problem is the window frame has a cupped "U" channel around the edge that collects water, salt etc., very bad design.
I pulled the glass and frame out and bought a new factory seal. I then attacked the rust with wire brush and sandpaper and used one of those rust-turned-to-primer treatments and painted with rust paint. Used silicone seal to attach the seal and reinstalled.
The drains can be flushed with water from the bottom, or air or a probe. Here we get Mud-dauber wasps which build clay homes in the drains.

You poor guys in the rust belt ... "I" would just go on vacation and drive to see sunny Arizona and get the sun roof for $40 here in Prescott at the junk yard.. Maybe see the Grand Canyon too..Bring the famliy .. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> David Hazardous Toys inc
