Never owned one myself, but I helped build a Meyers Manx (the first dune buggy). That sucker would corner at 1g+, and would do 360* turns at speed on the concrete slopes under freeway bridges, all stock veedub running gear with the chassis floorpan shortened by 11 (or was it 17) inches. COnsidering that we did half the pan reweld with two car batteries and jumper cables and welding rods, it worked out pretty well in the end. Still running as of a couple of years ago, on its 5th engine and 4th tranny. The only traction aid was a split ebrake, one handle for each rear wheel....
