LOL! I think someone just did. Way to go Kevin! Make sure you still talk to us when you and the ol Raider are rich and famous!

Rich and or famous seems to be out of the question. This just seemed like something fun to do to break up the routine.

Who knew that keeping a job would be this hard? For the past 30 years I have had a spotless work record and generally got consistant promotions.

The episode is called the Brasserie, part 1.

Past that, I dont know a whole lot more.

Hope you get some assistance from one of the creatures on that show,,,that old boss has some instant karma due...

Hope this opens a door to that cable show in about Portland. Portlandia , I think (I don't have cable) a unique vehicle would have a place on a unique show.

I'm very sorry. As a participant in the airline wars I had many jobs and was fired several times - union organizing, pointing out illegalities, etc.

It hurts to see unfair practices at work. Unfortunately, as I saw it, management decisions had little to do with the mission and lots to do with the exercise of power (by someone who never should have had any).

The very best of luck on the next one.

Thanks for the support... The good thing was one of the outside shops I had doing my machine work apparently knew what was going on. I'm pretty sure my boss asked them to give my jobs a priority and told them why, so I could assemble my tooling projects before he let me go.

I was wondering why all my machining jobs came in so fast. When I went to pick them up the shops CEO asked me if my boss was hard to work for and gave me that look like I know something is about to happen but I cant tell you.

So at least I knew it was coming.

The worse part was telling my wife.

As far as Portlandia goes, that is filmed in my neighborhood. You never know.

No fun at all, Kevin. That's definitely stressful. We seem to be weathering the storm a little better up here, but its still a tough job market... Even with gov't jobs... I have teacher friends that can't get permanent contracts, and every spring the stress starts again. Get your projects going again, and try to grab some downtime... you'll be back in action before you know it and you'll be wishing for a break...

Unfortunately. the Raider never got called to a scene. I still got paid for bringing her. They only used eight cars out of the twenty they arranged for.

Since I was an extra as well, I stayed on location for the entire day. Noon to 1:30 AM. For one restaurant scene they had about 115 extras to fill the place up. Each scene got shot at least five times.

My big role was walk up to the island bar and meet my "wife" and pretend to mingle with friends. From what I can tell I was far enough back that I'm probably not recognizable, just an out of focus background person.

I was background in three other scenes. By 11:00 PM there were only ten extras, so we got to hang out with the entire crew.

Fun for a day... I dont think I will be making a career out of this.

I even took the Raider to the car wash and cleaned her inside and out. Turns out my rims are silver, I had forgotten.

When they asked for cars they asked for nice newer ones. I guess it was all about options. I may try and get her into another shooting. Leverage and Portlandai are also filmed here.
