Ok, so these gears have been burning a hole in my to do list LOL....

They have a sticky residue on them of what I can only assume is gear cutting oil. Not much mind you. Hard to see even but obvious once you touch them.

Should I remove it using brake cleaner now or wait until I install them so theres no chance of even surface corrosion?
