Just for the archives.

Things I've done to track this down:

-Checked and cleaned grounds, everyone I could track down.

-Cleaned wire connections.

-Replaced the battery (it was a bit dodgy in tests).

-Removed and had alternator tested (good, at that time).

The three lights finally came on and would not go out, like 1/2 power (as described by Schoeny). With the lights like this the volt meter would wander from 14+ volts down to around 11 and then back up. Eventually (two days after the lights came on solid, no flicker of on/off) the gauge just kept dropping.

Pulled alternator again (hood up to alt. out in 12 minutes - got down which two socket sizes I need now!) and this time failed test.

So, clean grounds and contacts, fresh battery and alternator and problem solved! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
