Mud, I've played with a lot of dcoe's and idf's, too. Those are real carbs that you can tune. The progressives sold for the mitsu, even the straight 2bbl non progressives, are more like trying to tune a motorcraft carb from a pinto...

Thanks guys. I'm hoping for the mid to high teens around town and 20+ on the highway. We'll see what reality brings.
Mudraider, I've got a nice slightly used Mitsubishi carb, I'll make you a great deal on it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Had a buddy running one of those on a dune buggy. We gave up and made a manifold to put a small Holley on it. Done!

motorcraft carb from a pinto That carb (Weber DVG) was built under license from Weber. I used the Holley version from a Vega on several projects including my Opel Kadett Rally. I dont understand the not tunable part. The jets and the air bleeds can be changed and the idle fuel restrictor is accessible so it can be drilled out if you cam the motor up. I didnt have any issues setting the carb up on a modified engines. Carb Link

BTW I drove the Raider on the freeway last night. The throttle response over around 2500rpm is SO much better. It was really flat before and had no power , but now its a LOT better. Definitely something up with the secondaries on the old carb.
