I'll be in a fire / rescue class that weekend. So, put me down for one rain check.
Just a few name corrections to the directions.
We will loop around fs155a, side trip to the ridgetop on 155 to the west, then east on 155 to fs156 (sarah's crk rd), r on 156 back to war woman rd, then east on w'woman to Overflow Creek rd, fs86, which turns N off w'woman just across the west fork of the chatooga river. N on fs86 to just past the intersection with 86a, then a walk in the woods to Three Forks, where three streams with waterfalls all come together to form the west fork of the chatooga, then back uphill to the trucks, and 86 to fs7 (hale ridge rd) to GA Bald Mountain Rd by the big dead chicken houses, left to fs 413 (Kelsey Mountain Rd) to the pig trail to Rabun bald and another uphill walk to the peak and the lookout. fantastic views across the piedmont - in good weather you can see CLemson SC.
There are also some primitive sites at ...
Three Forks - At the point where the trail makes a hard left and turns down hill to the waterfall, if you continue straight, there will be a camp site about 100 ft ahead.
Overflow Creek - Look along the creek where the road passes nears the creek. There are some nice sites near the bridges.
Hale Ridge - At the first and only bridge north of the intersection of Overflow creek, there are sites on both side of the creek. There are also sites along Hale Ridge between the intersection of Overflow and Warwoman.
Rabun Bald - A few sites at and near the top.
You folks be safe. I don't want to get home to find out my department got paged out to rescue some crazy Montero driver!
