The bad; the injection pump leaks out of the throttle shaft this is very depressing

Mine did too when I first got it. After I started driving it, it stopped leaking. Don't buy a seal kit just yet.

my power steering pump needs a smaller pully to work at idle RPMS.

Easy fix.

I definitely want to get my glow plugs wired up, it was in the 40's this morning and it took a little effort to start.

Mine are on a big push button. Simple, but kinda sucky for a daily driver.

I've also got the temp sender mucked up somehow, it always reads hot.

Sounds like the wire is shorted to ground, OR it is on a idiot light sender, and not a gauge sender.

Is that a rattle can roof top paint job or one done using a spray gun in a booth?

Ray, check one page back I rattle canned this in my side yard. Turned out pretty good, it looks more single stage than rattle can. we'll see how long it lasts.

LR, that's good to know hopefully mine will quit leaking as well, i took the throttle plate off and put an o-ring at the base of that splined shaft and reinstalled. I'll try a different temp sender from a montero and hopefully that'll fix it.

I've got some miles on it now, it's running great! swapped in a Sport axle from a 3.5L 1999 MS with air locker and disc brakes. Got some 33" oldschool BFG's mounted up, no lift but i may do a 1" BL. I still want a better hood but the one i've got does it's job. Here's some current pics now that photobucket works with mountain lion OS. Pictures should resize soon. Nevermind the loose wires in the engine bay, I still need to sort out my tach and then i can wrap and loom those wires to be tied back.

Using the new photo bucket, expect delays it's extremely buggy and slow but they are forcing the beta on the users. I'd upload them to my FTP but then you'd just get links to full size awesome pictures that will need time to load.

Guys, you have the ability to add pictures to the 4x4wire/galleries section that will porovide a URL for including in posts and it will resize images.

You will have to register to the portal side but everything else shoud be in place to host images.

I was originally going to upload to 4x4wire but i think it wanted me to resize my pics before it would accept them or it wanted files one at a time. Seemed like a bunch of work <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I hate photobucket, i need to get smart with 4x4wire

Back on topic, my injection pump quit leaking on it's own. I found out the original axle was nearly impossible to turn (new axle is super smooth and has a locker to boot) acceleration has improved, the power steering just needed to be bled.
Still need an alignment, i'll get to that this week and i have to re drill my alternator bracket to match the NPR alternator. Right now the alternator doesn't keep tension very well and i think it's because of the small diameter bolt i'm using with the big alternator mounting holes

Looking good!

How does the cooling system hold up in AZ temps?

My 2.8TD holds up well here in Thailand (another high temp place) but long hills/mountains cause some overheating. 3 row radiator on this one.
