I own a couple of commie 9x18 pistols- a Bulgarian Makarov, and a Polish P64. Both have triggers that are awesome in single action. In DA, the Mak is fine and the P64 is damn near unshootable (something like a 26-28 pound pull IIRC). The round is, ballistically, kind of like a hot .380. Both of my 9x18 pistols have a blowback action as does the CZ-82, and that design generally has a bit more perceived recoil than a locked breach design. The mass of solid steel helps mitigate this, but it also means that these pistols are kind of heavy considering their ballistic performance.

I used to CC my Makarov but have moved on to others. Nowadays it's either a S&W J-frame .38spl, which isn't too ballistically dissimilar from 9x18 but the gun is a lot lighter and easier put in my pocket or waistband than the commie 9x18 guns, or a Glock 36 which would be fairly similar in size & weight to the commie guns but fires a superior round. Of course, the S&W and Glock cost more than a CZ-82. Those 9x18 pistols are fun shooters at the range and they are serviceable carry pieces.

I need to renew my C&R so I can get me a CZ-52. 7.62x25 @ 1600 fps isn't a pistol, it's a hand-rifle. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
