The 4 cylinder tanks are generally not baffled, a carburated vehicle has little need for baffles since the float chamber makes up for the intermittent loss of flow. As Eddy suggests, get the pickup as low as you can.

Another thing that works well is adding a low pressure pump feeding an external reservoir that the high pressure feeds from. This allows for a more constant feed during transient maneuvers.
