In past times I have installed an IN LINE lectric fuel pump in vehicles that sat for weeks or months without being started. These vehicles all had carburators and needed to turn over and over to get the pressure up and fill the carb before they would start.. It worked fine for what was needed.
However in a modern injected vehicle with a pump in the tank... and a rollover device in line... I wouldn't wire away from the factory install.
So find the break in the wireing and repair it, that would be best for any and all concerned.
